This is a 12, and 24 hour bicycle time trial RACE
"How Far Can You Ride?"
Lewis & Clark Ultra When: May 26 - 27, 2012 in Vancouver, Washington What: The Lewis & Clark Ultra 12/24 is a bicycle time trial race where participants can race continuously for either 12, or 24 hours. The participant who logs the most miles in each time period wins. Come on out and participate or support your local cyclists! Where: The race will begin at the Hockinson Middle School. Racers will wend their way over rolling hills and beautiful farmland to the Washougal River Road and then east on the Lewis & Clark Highway through the majestic Columbia River Gorge and past the famed Bonneville Dam. Along the way they will have magnificent views of Mt. Hood and the Cascade mountain range. At the Carson Hot Springs riders will turn north up the Wind River Highway to the moderate 3,000 foot climb of Old Man Pass before screaming down Curly Creek Road to the Swift Reservoir. Be sure to look up at the breathtaking view of Mt. St. Helens. On their way back to the finish line they will be mesmerized by the color of the Lewis River, and soak up the lush, dense forest of the Mt. St. Helens National Monument. Be the fastest team to cover the 180 miles (or so) course and win. Explore new lands - or at least new roads. When: Where: What is this? How does it work? The L&C Ride-N-Tie involves strategy, luck, ability to properly interpret your partner’s speed on all terrains, efficiency and even fast bike riding. Some “pulls” will only be 10 minutes long while others could be as long as an hour. So come and explore your abilities to think, guess and ride a bike in new and interesting terrain.
